This Privacy Policy describes how PZ Development GmbH (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects and processes information when you use the iOS application ProtexShiled (the “App”). We are based in Austria and process data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Austrian laws.
When you use the App, we may collect non-identifiable, aggregated, or anonymized metrics such as:
We implement safeguards to ensure the information cannot reasonably be used to identify an individual (e.g., removal or hashing of direct identifiers, aggregation, differential thresholds).
Because the data we collect is anonymized and not reasonably linkable to an individual, GDPR obligations concerning personal data are limited. Where GDPR applies, our primary legal basis is our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) to operate, secure, and improve the App, implemented with strong privacy safeguards.
We may use privacy-preserving analytics or crash diagnostics services that process anonymized data on our behalf as data processors. These providers are contractually bound to process data only under our instructions and with appropriate security measures. Apple may independently process diagnostic information on your device based on your iOS settings (e.g., “Share iPhone & Watch Analytics”).
If anonymized data is processed outside the European Economic Area, we take appropriate measures (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses and technical safeguards) to protect it.
We retain anonymized and aggregated metrics only as long as necessary for the purposes described above and to meet operational needs. Typical retention is up to 24 months, after which the data is deleted or further aggregated.
Because we design our telemetry to be anonymous, we generally cannot identify you in our datasets. If you contact us believing that any information we hold is personal data about you, we will assess your request under GDPR (e.g., access, deletion) and assist where technically feasible. We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect data, including encryption in transit, strict access controls, and data minimization.
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the age defined by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us to delete it.
The App may display or open third-party content (e.g., websites you choose to visit). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Please review those policies before providing any information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the App and revise the “Effective date” above. Material changes will be highlighted within the App or by other appropriate means.
